Brett Ephraim, a senior at San Clemente High in California, placed second in the Division 1 boys final by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 14:58.6 at Woodward Park in Fresno at the CIF State Cross Country Championships. Ephraim led the Tritons to their first boys state crown in program history with a 48-102 victory against defending champion Great Oak.
